
NEW Virginia State Trooper Charles Hewitt pulled over Derrick Thompson, a black motorist, in April 2019, taunted him and wrestled him out of the car by his neck. Hewitt has now been fired, Thompson's lawyer said. Virginia authorities confirmed he had left the force, but would not discuss terms.
