The Plannedemic - A Short Story: Mom's Death

Repeating.... It's been 40 Days..... Already

By Bob Barney

Like in the famous TV show Dragnet, names have been changed in the story to protect the innocent.   Most of the following IS PROBABLY TRUE, but will not swear to it, as I am not sure the legality…...... I want to make sure no COVID NAZI could by any means think this is the story of anyone known and try to show laws were broken.... The reader can figure out the deal….

John got the call from his brother Chris that their mother was diagnosed with inoperable terminal stage four gallbladder cancer. The doctor said she had at most 4 to 6 months to live and sent her home with pain medicine to die. Chris had for many years taking care of their mother, as he lived home with her and took care of her. Chris never married. He had earlier decided to hire a nurse to help her during the day but now as the end seemed near, John and Chris decided to hire a nurse to stay overnight as well five days a week.

John’s daughters, their husband’s and children all decided to go visit their grandmother and stay with her for several weeks on and off. Since they all were a part of the same family's business, it was next to impossible for everyone to be together at the same time, although they could plan to do that on the weekends, all showing up on Friday night, where they could spend quality time with “Mom” before she would pass away. They were in for a great shock. All had seen Mom just several months ago, and at 90 she was very alert and active. Now, just turning 91, they were horrified to see her condition. She was not frail, bedridden and her mind was clearly not all there.

It’s a 9 Hour Drive from where they lived in Virginia to where John's mom was in Connecticut. They all decided to get rooms at a nearby motel. They were shocked when they arrived to see what Connecticut had actually become during what they knew was the planneddemic!  Connecticut was more like communist Cuba, than the place they remembered just six months earlier.

The nation, especially the northeast where liberal democrats run the state governments, have used a badly over exaggerated coronavirus scare to lock down their states.  They mandated facemask’s as well as other unscientific procedures to “protect” their citizens from getting the so-called epidemic disease. Things in Connecticut were much worse than what was going on in Virginia.   Supermarket shelves were half empty, John’s brother Chris remarked “I think there’s more in a grocery store in Cuba than there is on supermarket shelf in Connecticut.

Connecticut itself, was like a communist state. There were police everywhere, looking at license plates even at people’s homes, in parks, and in supermarkets. If they saw license plates from what they called a “banned state”—and Virginia was one of those, they would tow the vehicles and impound them if they were parked on any town property.  They then forced people into self-quarantine for 14 days. Both New York and Connecticut required all people register online upon arrival, then quarantine themselves for 14 days if they were from certain states. Virginia was one of them.  They even told hotels to report where their guests were from and placed a video camera to “inspect” people and their vehicles.  It was scary. The family had a business to run that would go bankrupt if all were captured and quarantined. It became obvious to the family that they could no longer be together in one place at home with John’s mom because if they were forced to self-quarantine in their hotel rooms they could neither take care of Mom or be able to get back to run their business during the week.  If they lost their business five different families would be out of jobs —-good paying jobs at that.

Their decision they made was forced upon them.  It would be that from now on they would take turns going back-and-forth and only one family would be with mom at one time. It was sad and made John very angry. His brother Chris, who is always been a very patriotic American, made the statement “I’ve actually come to hate this country.”

They all felt like Jews escaping the Nazi's in World War 2 Germany, or Corrie Ten Boom in the “Hiding Place.”   This was definitely not the America that they remembered.

Upon arriving for the second time, John and his family were surprised to see that his mom had perked up to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially. She seemed like there was nothing wrong with her for a brief moment, but there was. She basically refused to eat she would drink less than 5 ounces a day of Ensure for a week now. No amount of coaxing could get her to eat more, and everyone realized that she was not going to last more than a few weeks if she would refuse to eat. Evidently the growth in her stomach area was making her nauseous, as well as having no appetite.

John’s kids and grandchildren decided to leave the day before his mom would pass away, the moment they left it seemed that she had decided to give up hope of living she seem to shut down and start to die. It was very sad times, complicated by a totalitarian government that could at any time place them in house arrest. If caught they would be taken away from their purpose, and to make things more infuriating they knew all of this was nonsense—pseudo-science propagated by politicians.  If that wasn't bad enough, they were told by the funeral home that when Mom would die only less than ten people could be present at the graveside! And they were supposed to wear masks!  They would refuse that later!  John's children decided not to risk it, and decided after Mom was dead, and it didn't matter to her any longer, they would not come back for the funeral.  What a devastating decision they had to make to appease the heathen evil government.  The fact they were there for her when she was alive was what she really needed and wanted anyway.

To make matters worse, when John and his wife went to the funeral parlor to pay $11,875 for a simple casket and graveside burial, they were told they couldn't even step on the porch to pay them!   They stood 20 to 30 feet away wearing masks shouting “stay away” from their building!   Of course, greed got the best of them and one very brave soul came forth to grab the check and run back to the safety of his sanctuary!  John thought disgustingly how easily the American populace had allowed these monstrous demons inspired leaders to tramp on the Constitution and take away every right that they had; Given to them by God Almighty and not by any man or government.

Later after Mom died, meeting at the open gravesite, the funeral home employees (wearing masks of course, standing a good 50 feet away), watched on TV the funeral of a black congressman, with every elitist Democrat sitting side-by-side in a church without wearing any mask at all! Hundreds of them!  Yet, regular Americans were forbidden to go to church.  But not the elitist Democrats, they were allowed, and nobody cared!  In church for a funeral, something banned in New York City.  Sitting side by side, less than a few inches apart, without masks, by the hundreds, attending a political funeral event showing to the world that they weren’t even worried about hiding this fact. It was like they were shoving it up the American people's ass, and that is what they were doing.

The next day was Sunday, John and his wife now were left alone to stand vigil over his mom.  Progressively over the day she began to fail rather quickly.  John spent the afternoon holding her hand and reading from the Bible to her.  She loved the 23rd Psalm more than anything and John would play the video of his granddaughter (mom's great granddaughter) reading it to her. She loved watching the video on John's phone over and over again smiling, then crying.  It was horribly sad indeed.

About 2 o’clock she started making a noise as she breathed, it’s called the death rattle, and although John was present when his father died, he was not present in the very final hours, when in all probability his father went through the same thing. His father died in the hospital not at home. If you look up the term death rattle on the web, you’ll read a very sobering description of how horrifying the sound is. It sounds as if the person is drowning with in fluid in their lungs; A gurgling sound that is very loud and very disturbing. John had looked it up and tried to convince the nurse, a very young woman who had not experienced anything like that before, and his wife that according to the experts, the person dying does not feel the pain of the death rattle, but it’s hard to believe it when you experience it.

Web MD stated that it can last anywhere from a few hours all the way up to 48 hours, most lasting in the 12 to 24-hour range and there was nothing that could be done about it. Prayers now changed from allowing her to live a little longer, maybe several months or so, to allowing her to die quickly and peacefully and not suffer. It was something John had never thought he would ever pray for, that anyone he loved so much should die soon. It was against his nature.

A half hour went by, but it seemed like it was three hours. Then another half hour which seem like another three hours dragged by.   It was now 3:15 in the afternoon and the death rattle continued. It seemed like eternity.  Minutes seemed like hours. Every time John looked up at the clock, it was only another 10 or 15 minutes that had passed and and the death rattle continued.

They decided to try to move her around to lessen the noise, but the noise continued. They did this for the longest hour they’ve ever experienced in their life and although they tried to move her in positions to stop it, sometimes seem to work for a minute or two, the death rattle would continue, everyone was horror-stricken.

5 o’clock went by, 5:15, 5”30, then 6 o’clock, 6:03 to be exact, John’s mom stopped breathing, only to start breathing again at 6:05.  She was breathing again, but the death rattle was now louder than ever!  At 6:10 PM she stopped breathing again but started breathing very slowly at 6:11. “It's not much longer,” He exclaimed to everyone. I think she is going.”

At 6:12 she was breathing slowly but the death rattle had stopped!  It was peaceful, sad and heartbreaking to witness.  She was no longer grabbing John’s hand now and it felt limp, but she was breathing very – slowly.   At 6:15 there was no breathing anymore.  They waited for several minutes, John holding was her hand, her eyes were open and glassy.  I became evident by 6:18 PM that she had indeed died at 6:15. John whispered in her ear “I will always love you until we meet again in the resurrection”.   Her ordeal was over, John’s was continuing.

Four days later, John, his brother and wife stood by the graveside in front of the casket. And read part of 1 Corinthians 15, the resurrection chapter which clearly explains what death is, and where we go when we die.

“I’m telling you a mystery. Not all of us will die, but we will all be changed.  It will happen in an instant, in a split second at the sound of the last trumpet. Indeed, that trumpet will sound, and then the dead will come back to life. They will be changed so that they can live forever. This body that decays must be changed into a body that cannot decay. This mortal body must be changed into a body that will live foreverWhen this body that decays is changed into a body that cannot decay, and this mortal body is changed into a body that will live forever, then the teaching of Scripture will come true:

“Death is turned into victory!
 Death, where is your victory?
Death, where is your sting?”

Then again in 1 Thessalonians 4:: Brothers and sisters, we don’t want you to be ignorant about those who have died. We don’t want you to grieve like other people who have no hope We believe that Jesus died and came back to life. We also believe that, through Jesus, God will bring back those who have died. They will come back with Jesus. We are telling you what the Lord taught. We who are still alive when the Lord comes will not go into his kingdom ahead of those who have already died. The Lord will come from heaven with a command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the dead who believed in Christ will come back to life Then, together with them, we who are still alive will be taken in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, at His coming. In this way we will always be with the Lord.  So then, comfort each other with these words!

Yes, the dead sleep in their graves until the return of Christ, when Christians will be resurrected into spiritual beings, Gods born again children, never to die again.   The rest of the dead, will continue their sleep until after 1,000 years of Christ's rule here on earth.  Then the rest of the dead will awaken to final judgement and the hope of eternity too, or final death forever. Blessed are they who make the first resurrection, for they do not have to worry about this second death (Revelation 20).

Rest in Peace Mom, I’m sure you made the first resurrection.
