Biblically unclean animals responsible for pandemics? We've been ignoring Divine instructions on what to eat?'

Bob Barney
God told us since the Garden of Eden what we could and could not eat!  A trick question is how many pairs of sheep were on the Ark?  Doves, Cattle, goats?  Most thin 1 pair of each, but the Bible says 7 pairs of all CLEAN animals, and 1 pair of unclean animals.  Long before Moses, mankind had dietary laws from GOD! Here is a partial list of forbidden foods to be eaten, as says our Creator God!

Research into past pandemics shows the following animals, along with mosquitoes and fleas, have been responsible for pandemics:

  • Pigs (Spanish Flu, Asian Flu, Swine Flu)
  • Bats and certain other avian creatures (SARS, MERS, and Covid-19)
  • Pangolins (possibly Covid-19)
  • Chimpanzees (HIV/AIDS)
  • Rats (Black Death, Great Plague of London, Third Plague)
  • Camels (MERS)
  • Dogs (Hong Kong Flu, Asian Flu)
  • Civet Cats [mongoose-like creatures] (SARS)

Pictures that most have seen about Noah's ark depicted in Genesis 6:20, where God initially gives a general order to bring two animals of each kind — “Of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal, and of every kind of thing that crawls on the ground, two of each will come to you, that you may keep them alive.

However, most do not know that God explained furthur in Genesis 7:2,  "to bring seven pairs of clean animals and birds." The reason becomes clear after the flood subsides. The initial pair of each animal from 6:20 will assure that the world is repopulated after the flood with all the different species of animals and birds.

As regards the seven pairs, in Genesis 8:20, after the flood subsides Noah offers to God a sacrifice of some of the clean animals: “Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and choosing from every clean animal and every clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.”

By having taken seven pairs of the clean animals and clean birds on the ark, Noah is able to offer a sacrifice to God of those clean animals while still allowing those species to repopulate the earth. Proof that the so-called "Jewish": Kosher Laws are from Moses are NOT for Jews alone, but for every human being on earth.

Here is what GOD INSTRUCTED US TO EAT and NOT Eat:

Leviticus 11 Good News Translation (GNT)

Animals That May Be Eaten

11 The Lord gave Moses and Aaron the following regulations for the people of Israel. You may eat any land animal that has divided hoofs and that also chews the cud, 4-6 but you must not eat camels, rock badgers, or rabbits. These must be considered unclean; they chew the cud, but do not have divided hoofs. Do not eat pigs. They must be considered unclean; they have divided hoofs, but do not chew the cud. Do not eat these animals or even touch their dead bodies; they are unclean.

You may eat any kind of fish that has fins and scales, 10 but anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales must not be eaten. 11 Such creatures must be considered unclean. You must not eat them or even touch their dead bodies. 12 You must not eat anything that lives in the water and does not have fins and scales.

13-19 You must not eat any of the following birds: eagles, owls, hawks, falcons; buzzards, vultures, crows; ostriches; seagulls, storks, herons, pelicans, cormorants;[a] hoopoes; or bats.

20 All winged insects are unclean, 21 except those that hop. 22 You may eat locusts, crickets, or grasshoppers. 23 But all other small things that have wings and also crawl must be considered unclean.

24-28 If you touch the dead bodies of the following animals, you will be unclean until evening: all animals with hoofs, unless their hoofs are divided and they chew the cud, and all four-footed animals with paws. If you carry their dead bodies, you must wash your clothes, but you will still be unclean until evening.

29-30 Moles, rats, mice, and lizards must be considered unclean. 31 Whoever touches them or their dead bodies will be unclean until evening. 32 And if their dead bodies fall on anything, it will be unclean. This applies to any article of wood, cloth, leather, or sacking, no matter what it is used for. It shall be dipped in water, but it will remain unclean until evening. 33 And if their bodies fall into a clay pot, everything that is in it shall be unclean, and you must break the pot. 34 Any food which could normally be eaten, but on which water from such a pot has been poured, will be unclean, and anything drinkable in such a pot is unclean. 35 Anything on which the dead bodies fall is unclean; a clay stove or oven shall be broken, 36 but a spring or a cistern remains clean, although anything else that touches their dead bodies is unclean. 37 If one of them falls on seed that is going to be planted, the seed remains clean. 38 But if the seed is soaking in water and one of them falls on it, the seed is unclean.

39 If any animal that may be eaten dies, anyone who touches it will be unclean until evening. 40 And if any of you eat any part of the animal, you must wash your clothes, but you will still be unclean until evening; any of you who carry the dead body must wash your clothes, but you will still be unclean until evening.

41 You must not eat any of the small animals that move on the ground, 42 whether they crawl, or walk on four legs, or have many legs. 43 Do not make yourselves unclean by eating any of these. 44 I am the Lord your God, and you must keep yourselves holy, because I am holy. 45 I am the Lord who brought you out of Egypt so that I could be your God. You must be holy, because I am holy.

46 This, then, is the law about animals and birds, about everything that lives in the water, and everything that moves on the ground. 47 You must be careful to distinguish between what is ritually clean and unclean, between animals that may be eaten and those that may not.

Footnotes:

  1. Leviticus 11:13 The identification of some of the birds in verses 13-19 is uncertain.

The New Testament DID NOT DO AWAY with God's Law on Food:

One often-misunderstood section of the Bible concerns Peter’s vision in which he “saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth.” In this sheet “were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.” Peter heard a voice tell him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat” (Acts 10:11-13).

Assuming the vision meant he should eat unclean animals, Peter spontaneously responded: “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean” (Acts 10:14). The same vision came to Peter three times (Acts 10:16).

Don't be fooled!  You are what you eat! So many know that they are sensitive to gluten, to dairy, or think vegetarianism is the way to go, but so few follow the diet GOD tells us what to eat!
