Did Jesus Christ Really Exist?
Let's Put a happy tree right here!

The Great Speckled Bird

What a beautiful thought I am thinking
Concerning a great speckled bird
Remember her name is recorded
On the pages of God's Holy Word

All the other birds are flocking 'round her
And she is despised by the squad
But the great speckled bird in the Bible
Is one with the great church of God

All the other churches are against her
They envy her glory and fame
They hate her because she is chosen
And has not denied Jesus' name

Desiring to lower her standard
They watch every move that she makes
They long to find fault with her teachings
But really they find no mistake

She is spreading her wings for a journey
She's going to leave by and by
When the trumpet shall sound in the morning
She'll rise and go up in the sky

In the presence of all her despisers
With a song never uttered before
She will rise and be gone in a moment
Till the great tribulation is o'er

I am proud that my name is on her book
For I want to be one never fearing
The face of my Savior to look

When He cometh descending from heaven
On the cloud that He writes in His Word
I'll be joyfully carried to meet Him
On the wings of that great speckled bird

The lyrics of the song was written over 100 years ago, but never are the words more true than today. "The Great Speckled Bird" is a hymn from the Southern United States whose lyrics were written by the Reverend Guy Smith, and Transcribed by singer Charlie Swain, made famous by Roy Acuff and later Johnny Cash.    It is based on Jeremiah 12:9, "Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour." It was recorded in 1936 by Roy Acuff. It was also later recorded by Johnny Cash and Kitty Wells (both in 1959), Pearly Brown (1961), Hank Locklin (1962), Marty Robbins (1966), Lucinda Williams (1978), Bert Southwood (1990), Marion Williams, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The great speckled bird represents the true Church of God, and the Bible.  The other birds (vs 5-7)  represent other false churches and false religions.  The Plain Truth of Jesus Christ is despised by much of the world, including Christian Churches and other religions like Islam and Judaism.  The world, science and anthropologists "long to find fault with her teachings," and if we are honest with ourselves, everything around us tries to do just that!  Evolution, global warming, modern politically correct laws, and our leaders are always at odds with the Bible - which is the word of God!  Like the song says, "But really they find no mistake". And they don't. Evolution is a lie, so is global warming. So too is the Democrat party - they all stand for lawlessness!  Don't be fooled, lawlessness = DEATH!  1 John 3:4 and Romans 6:23.

"They hate her because she is chosen---And has not denied Jesus' name." Revelation 3:8:  I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: for you have a little strength, and have kept my word, and have not denied my nameThe Plain Truth is that many today deny Jesus is God. In fact in doing so, they are being antichrists!

The world hates us because they hated Jesus first.  If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’" (John 15:18-25)

Tribulation:  Unlike in the song, the Church is NOT raptured before Christ's return, BUT DURING HIS RETURN--- at that same moment in time, but for the most part, the song is a great example of the true message of the Bible, that is timeless and as true today concerning the nature of mankind as it was when it was first written.

"She is spreading her wings for a journey - She's going to leave by and by -When the trumpet shall sound in the morning - She'll rise and go up in the sky."  Yes, the Bible promises that the Church will go to meet Jesus, When He returns (not before) and we will reign with Christ on this earth for 1,000 years!  We do not go to heaven when we die, we sleep in a grave.  But when Jesus comes again, "When He cometh descending from heaven, On the cloud that He writes in His Word,
I'll be joyfully carried to meet Him, On the wings of that great speckled bird."  This signifies when we are brought back to spiritual life and meet with Christ is the clouds at His coming (Read 1 Corinthians 15- the "resurrection" chapter).

Don't be fooled by the teachings of this world today.  Trust in God, and God's Bible.  Don't put your trust in man, be a part of the great speckled bird!
