Trump is immoral and doesn't tell the truth, former U.S. Commander Stanley McChrystal charges

McChrystal was U.S. Commander in Afghanistan until his resignation in June 2010 after he criticized Obama officials to Rolling Stone magazine

Retired General Stanley McChrystal on Sunday slammed President Donald Trump as immoral, shady, and a liar, adding he wouldn't join the president's administration.

Stanley, who was the U.S. commander in Afghanistan for a year during the Obama administration, didn't hold back in his criticism of the president in an interview with ABC News.

'I think it's important for me to work for people who I think are basically honest, who tell the truth as best they know it,' he said of why he would not join Trump's administration.

'Swamp cancer' threatens wild ponies at Chincoteague Island

Ponies

In recent months, seven horses have picked up a fungus-like infection in their hoofs and legs at Chincoteague Refuge.

There is a danger lurking, literally, underfoot. In recent months, seven of the horses have picked up a fungus-like infection in their hoofs and legs, probably by stepping in contaminated wetlands. Seven have died, including four that were euthanized Friday at a field hospital set up to treat them on the Chincoteague Fairgrounds.

“Shadow, Lightning, Calceti’n and Elusive Star as well as the others received the very best care money could buy,” Denise Bowden, a spokeswoman for the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company, which manages the herd, announced on Facebook Friday night. “They just couldn’t fight this off.”

Managers of the herd worry that warmer weather will bring yet more infections and, potentially, a serious threat to the beloved ponies, one of the region’s iconic tourist draws and a feature of the Virginia coast for centuries.

“We’re not panicking, but we’ve never faced a situation like this before,” Bowden said as vets were still trying to save the last four ponies the week before Christmas. “It’s been very, very trying.”   MORE

This 1969 Mustang Boss 429 continuation car makes 815 hp

image from s.aolcdn.com

Classic Recreations, the custom fabricators from Oklahoma, has rolled into SEMA in Las Vegas with a continuation 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that features a custom-built crate engine making 815 horsepower.

Swathed in monochromatic "Vengeance Black" paint, the racing pony car was built from an original 1969 Mustang body and restored to factory condition. It's the first vehicle released under Classic's new license with Ford, which also permits it to offer continuation versions of the 1969-1970 Boss 302 and Mach 1 Mustangs. The Boss 429 was born when Ford, eyeing intense NASCAR competition from Chrysler, developed a new 429 cubic-inch, 375-hp V8 for the Mustang. Ford built fewer than 900 of them for the 1969 model year and just under 500 for 1970, the only two years they were built.

"The Boss 429 is one of the coolest and rarest Mustangs ever produced, but they have gotten so valuable that most owners won't drive them," Classic Recreations owner Jason Engel said in a statement. "This offers people the chance to own an incredibly rare car that they can actually drive, and with modern chassis and engine tech, these cars will actually be faster and easier to drive than the original."

This continuation version brings a 546 cubic-inch (8.9-liter) mated to a Tremec manual transmission. It also features an updated valve train, electronic fuel injection and engine management systems. There's also a four-link rear suspension and front tubular upper and lower control arms with adjustable coilovers and oversized sway bars for stability at high speeds. It's also been fitted with stainless steel performance mufflers and long tube headers to accentuate the aggressive sound and allow the engine to breathe.

Elsewhere, the Boss 429 gets Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted to all-new forged aluminum 18-inch wheels made by American Racing and zinc-washed rotors mated to six-piston front and four-piston rear brake calipers. There's also a tilt column and complete rack-and-pinion steering conversion. There are also Kicker Audio speakers, a custom console, aluminum steering wheel and factory Boss 429 200-mph gauges.

The custom conversion Boss 429 starts at $209,000.

NANCY PELOSI ANNOUNCES A HOUSE ‘CLIMATE CRISIS’ COMMITTEE AFTER FLYING THOUSANDS OF MILES TO A HAWAIIAN RESORT

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced Friday that Democrats would create a Select Committee on the Climate Crisis in 2019, which will be headed by Florida Democratic Rep. Kathy Castor.

However, Pelosi’s announcement isn’t placating progressives in her party, such as New York Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who support “Green New Deal” legislation.

“This committee, if it turns out that the rumors about it are true, sound about as useful as a screen door on a submarine,” Ocasio-Cortez spokesman Corbin Trent, told The Hill.

“As it’s portrayed it’s going to be completely incapable of solving the greatest threat to human kind,” Trent said.

Pelosi, who’s expected to be elected House speaker in 2019, said there’s “tremendous pressure” for Democrats to make fighting global warming a central part of their agenda in the new year.

Pelosi made her announcement amid a government shutdown after she flew thousands of miles to a luxurious Hawaiian hotel where she was spotted Thursday, according to reports(RELATED: Nancy Pelosi Vacations In Luxurious Hawaiian Resort Amid Government Shutdown)

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced Friday that Democrats would create a Select Committee on the Climate Crisis in 2019. REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque.

The creation of the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis is one way Pelosi plans on satisfying progressives without angering incoming committee chairs, like New Jersey Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone, who want to advance their own climate bills.

“It is with great enthusiasm that I appoint Congresswoman Kathy Castor as the Chair of our new Select Committee on the Climate Crisis,” Pelosi said in a statement issued Friday.

“She will bring great experience, energy and urgency to the existential threat of the climate crisis,” Pelosi said. “This committee will be critical to the entire Congress’s mission to respond to the urgency of this threat, while creating the good-paying, green jobs of the future.”

Pelosi’s climate committee isn’t expected to have subpoena power or authority to advance legislation to the House floor for a vote. If that’s the case, it would be weaker than the previous select climate committee behind the 2010 failed cap-and-trade effort.

“The American people have demanded action to combat the climate crisis, which threatens our public health, our economy, our national security and the whole of God’s creation,” Pelosi said.   MORE

“Selfie Wrist,” “Text Neck,” Screen Addiction, Macular Degeneration and Blindness, Insomnia, Anxiety, Brain Cancer and Tumors

By B.N. Frank

“Selfies” have become so popular that in 2014 they actually received their own “National Selfie Day.”  Unfortunately, “Selfie Wrist” – injuries sustained by taking too many selfies – came along with it.  Increasing reports of “Selfie Wrist” are making the rounds again just a few months after Kim Kardashian-West was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and ordered to stop taking them of herself.  Fortunately Mrs. Kardashian-West can afford to pay an assistant to now handle this task for her.  Everyone else will have to find another way.

Scientists discover bacteria that absorbs carbon dioxide and turns into FOOD for sea creatures

Another blow to Global Warming

Scientists studying the Pacific Ocean have discovered a bacteria that absorbs carbon dioxide (CO2) and could potentially turn itself into a food source for other sea creatures.

The bacteria was discovered in one of the deepest parts of the Pacific Ocean, the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone (CCFZ), a trench which extends 2.5 miles beneath the surface.

Scientists have been exploring the area due to its deep sea mining potential. Trials are set to be carried out and if successful, it could mean 200 million tonnes of CO2 is being turned into biomass every year.

Contractors from Korea, Germany and the UK believe the site to be a promising source of polymetallic nodules, which contain metals like nickel, copper and cobalt.

Researchers have carried out tests on the deepest parts of the Pacific Ocean
Biomass found at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean could potentially become a food source for animals in the deep sea

Researchers at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh carried out a series of experiments of the sediments located in the CCFZ and discovered the bacteria, findings were then published in the Limnology and Oceanography.   MORE

Ring of Fire volcanoes erupting is Biblical sign of END OF DAYS, claims Rabbi

Forward: Just like in the time of Jesus' earthly ministry, today, like then, all the religions knew that Bible prophecies were being fulfilled. In Jesus' time, all the religions knew of the birth of the messiah of Israel.  That's why Magi came!  Today, Muslims, Jews, Christians, and even those with no religious views, see signs of a coming "End Time."

Ring of Fire

RING OF FIRE: Could the volcanoes and earthquakes be the sign of the end of days? (Pic: GETTY)

Volcanos and earthquakes are constantly shaking the Ring of Fire – an area of high seismic activity which ranges from New Zealand, up to northern Russia, across the US and then down to Chile.

Indonesia felt an explosive eruption and earthquake over the weekend in the latest major activity of the 25,000 mile long horseshoe.

It encompasses the entire Pacific Ocean and includes the vast majority of world’s earthquakes and volcanoes.

Rabbis have suggested the apparent increase in activity this year could show the world is heading for the end of days as laid out the Hebrew Bible.

Saturn's rings are gradually disappearing

Saturn's spectacular rings won't last forever. Image Credit: NASA
A new study has revealed that Saturn's rings may be slowly falling on to the gas giant as 'ring rain'.
One of our solar system's most beautiful and cherished spectacles, the rings of Saturn are comprised of countless icy particles ranging in size from a few millimeters to several meters across.

Originally thought to have formed 4.5 billion years ago during the earliest days of the solar system, the rings are now believed to be much more recent - perhaps only a hundred million years old - and were formed from the debris left over from a collision between Saturn and a small icy body such as a moon.

While it is difficult to imagine Saturn without its rings, a new study lead by 's James O'Donoghue has highlighted the likelihood that they could be gone entirely within a relatively short time frame.

The research describes a process through which the ice particles that make up the rings are being gradually pulled towards Saturn by the planet's gravity, producing what is known as ring rain.

Eventually - within another 300 million years at most - the rings will have disappeared entirely.

AMERICANS RESIST: 1+ Million Gun Owners Refuse to Obey Ban, No One Turning in Magazines

By Matt Agorist

New Jersey — Unless you’ve been under a rock lately, then you’ve likely seen the unprecedented push by all levels of government to separate law abiding Americans from their guns. No, this is not some conspiracy theory. The president himself ushered in a new level of gun control doing what his liberal predecessor even refused to do by banning bump stocks. However, as states across the country seek to limit the ability of innocent people to defend themselves, people are disobeying.

In May, Gov. Phil Murphy signed a law that reduced the maximum capacity of ammunition magazines from 15 rounds to 10. Citizens immediately sued the government, citing the unconstitutional nature of the ban, but they failed.

“New Jersey’s law reasonably fits the State’s interest in public safety and does not unconstitutionally burden the Second Amendment’s right to self-defense in the home,” the court wrote in their decision. “The law also does not violate the Fifth Amendment’s Takings Clause because it does not require gun owners to surrender their magazines but instead allows them to retain modified magazines or register firearms that have magazines that cannot be modified.”    Read More

The Antichrist: Were the Protestant Reformers Correct?

Martin Luther - one of the Protestant Reformers

by Woodrow W. Whidden (Revised Version of An Article originally published on May 25, 2000) Emeritus Professor of Religion Andrews University .. Prof Whidden has no association with The Plain Truth, and we link this article for the education of our readers only!

In this age of ecumenical calls for the unity of all Christians, when all professed Christians are supposed to see what they can do to find common ground and show both personal and theological charity to others not of their particular tradition of belief, the traditional Historicist interpretation of the Antichrist (also espoused by White Horse Media) as being fulfilled by the Roman Papal Church has been called into question.

Should The Traditional Papal Interpretation Change?

What is to be made of this delicate situation? Has the Roman Catholic church (the Papacy) changed to the point that Historicist interpreters and their respective ministries need to seriously reconsider their traditional position that this largest of Christian bodies is the antichrist portrayed in the prophetic imagery of the “little horns” of Daniel 7 and 8, “the man of sin” of 2 Thess.2 and the Leopard-like, or sea beast of Rev. 13? In all of the changes that have occurred since Catholicism’s Vatican Council II of the early 1960s, has such change been sufficient to suggest that traditional Historicist expositions of prophecy should seriously modify or even jettison its standard antichrist interpretation?

The Dangers Of Aluminum Adjuvants In Vaccines Discussed With Aluminum Expert Christopher Exley, PhD

By Catherine J. Frompovich

One of the colleagues with whom I network regarding vaccines, Christina England of the U.K., asked if I could give exposure to her article and interview with world-renowned aluminum expert, Christopher Exley, PhD, of Keele University in Staffordshire, England.  Dr. Exley is known as “Mr. Aluminum,” a moniker he apparently earned as a result of studying the dangers of aluminum for the last 35 years. In the U.K., aluminum is referred to as aluminium.

Below are a few comments, plus paraphrases, I chose to highlight while listening to the interview.

“Without the aluminium adjuvant, the vaccine would not work.”
“There has never been any safety trial…”
“There is no regulation on aluminium…”
“The amount of aluminium used produces a certain type of response…”
“The adjuvant works by producing toxicity…”

Aluminium can produce its own immune response… a memory to aluminium … which means with the next significant exposure to aluminium, the body starts to produce an immune response against that… there’s the possibility of producing a cascade of events not only around the injection sites, but around the body… this is a real worry…      Read More

THE CREATOR OF KWANZAA IS A CRIMINAL WHO ALLEGEDLY TORTURED NAKED WOMEN

1It’s Christmastime, America, and you know what that means: It’s almost Kwanzaa! It’s also the season when public school classrooms across the fruited plain have pointedly avoided Christmas, but have teemed with lessons about Kwanzaa and a handful of other holidays which aren’t Christmas.

As a public service, then, The Daily Caller is once again here to tell you the true – and truly bizarre – history of the violent, deranged and radical black nationalist who concocted the completely artificial holiday of Kwanzaa in 1966.

The creator of Kwanzaa is Maulana Ndabezitha Karenga, a 77-year-old professor of Africana studies at California State University, Long Beach. His real name is Ronald Everett. He was born in rural Maryland, the fourteenth child of a sharecropping Baptist minister.

Karenga was convicted in 1971 for brutally torturing two naked women. The weapons of torture included a soldering iron, a vise and, of course, a toaster.  Read More

The Meaning of Christmas

Forward by Bob Barney:  The following is an article that was published around 1900!  I think those who still think Christmas has something to do with the birth of Jesus (which it doesn't) will be surprised that even over a 100 years ago, when WE THINK people knew the so-called "true meaning of Christmas," THEY DIDN'T!

Frank Leslie’s Weekly, published from 1855 to 1922, was an American illustrated news publication started by publisher and illustrator Frank Leslie. While only 30 copies of the first edition were printed, by 1897 its circulation had grown to an estimated 65,000 copies.

Frank Leslie’s Weekly – The Meaning of Christmas

The Meaning of Christmas

By SIGMUND SPAETH

THE FIRST man I addressed was of the brisk business type. He had the gruff air of complete absorption which most business men consider it necessary to assume.

“What does Christmas mean to you?” I asked.

He looked at me sharply and answered, “I have no time for either reporters or lunatics.”

“But this is a serious question,” I insisted. “I desire information. How can I discover the meaning of the whole thing if nobody will answer me?”

He relented a little and replied, in a more friendly tone, “To me Christmas means prosperity. It means the busiest time of the year. It means big sales and big profits. That’s all I know about it.” And he hurried off.

I next accosted a well-known lawyer. He was a big, kindly man, and he listened to my question with interest. But his face clouded as he answered, “Christmas is to me an annual reminder of all the crime and misery in the world. The peace and good-will of the rich only serve to accentuate the wretchedness of the poor. The criminal courts are filled each year with those who would be honorable men if they possessed only a very small share of the Christmas gifts which are a natural part of our own care-free lives. It is a sad thought.”

I pondered over these words, but soon hastened on to find a new victim for my questioning. It happened to be a clerk, a small, nervous man, obviously over-worked.

“What does Christmas mean to me?” he asked. “Well, for one thing it means a holiday—and that is always a relief. I get a chance to see something of my family, to spend a day with the children. But it’s embarrassing, too. It has its unpleasant side. I can’t afford to do what I would like in the way of gifts, and I’m always afraid that the fact is noticeable. My wife and I decided several years ago to omit all presents to each other and concentrate on the children. But even at that our celebration is a very modest affair. I wish the cost of living were not so high.” And he also hurried off, with a feeble imitation of the absorbed air of the business man.

My next question was addressed to a successful physician. He laughed as he answered, “It’s pretty hard for me to get away from my profession. I suppose Christmas means no more to me than so many extra cases of indigestion to be cured and so many more colds to be attended to. It merely adds one more to the many occasions on which the power of medicine can be proved.”

I turned to an actor of world-wide reputation. “Does Christmas mean anything to you?” I asked.

“It means my busy day,” he answered gruffly. “We stage people have no real Christmas. There is always an evening performance and usually a matinee as well. We are worked harder on Christmas Day than at any other time in the year.”

I was disappointed, but hastened to take up the subject with a singer, one who was chiefly noted for church work.

“Oh,” he answered enthusiastically, “Christmas means much to me! There are so many services and the Christmas music is so wonderful. I always look forward to it. There is nothing that brings out the beauties of my voice so well as the Christmas carols, and the more elaborate things give me an opportunity for a really fine display of technique.”

Again I was disappointed, but again I turned hopefully, this time to a teacher. Here at least, I thought, I shall find a deeply spiritual reply, full of a mystic meaning. So I asked my question confidently, and I listened with hopeful attention as I saw the gleam of pleasure in his eyes.

“The meaning of Christmas?” he fairly shouted. “It means joy! Joy! Joy! Two full weeks of vacation! No classes to teach! No papers to correct! No unruly boys to reprimand! Could anything be pleasanter? Sleigh rides, theaters, books, dinners! Oh, the joys of Christmas are countless!”

I left him to his ecstatic ravings and sought out a social worker of long experience. This man, at least, must have some truth to impart. “Christmas,” he said slowly, “to me means simply hard labor. It means days of unpleasant begging, sometimes on the street corners, sometimes at the homes of the rich. It means the stupendous task of feeding and clothing thousands of the poor. And it means that when our work is done we get very little gratitude, very little appreciation. It is expected of us. Some keep their cheerful faces year after year and imagine that they really enjoy their work. To me it has become mere drudgery.” Even after this rebuff I did not give up hope altogether. But I said to myself, “I must find a real interpreter of Christianity. I shall ask a minister of the Gospel.” The reply which I received proved most disappointing of all.

“Yes, I like Christmas,” said the clergyman pleasantly. “It is what I may call my easy day. The sermon requires almost no preparation. The congregation enters into the spirit of the day and helps me in every way possible. I receive many substantial evidences of the generosity of my parishioners, so that, on the whole, I am always happy, contented and possibly a little lazy on Christmas Day.”

The unexpectedness of this answer so upset my calculations that I jumped at once to the opposite extreme. I picked out a miserable tramp, the very type of neglected humanity, arguing that all my attempts so far had been directed too much toward the higher and more prosperous classes. The tramp grinned cheerfully as he answered my question.

“Christmas? That’s somethin’ like Thanksgivin’, ain’t it? Them’s my two big feed days for the year. You can work a graft so as to eat three full charity dinners in the same afternoon, if you can hold ‘em. I generally fills up fer about a week, countin’ what I stows in my clothes. But it makes the rest of the year all the worse. Rich people seem to think that us poor guys don’t have to eat no more than once or twice in twelve months. If it wasn’t for the cold weather, I’d want Christmas every day.”

I might have foreseen this. My first track was the right one, after all; yet I seemed to have exhausted all the possible sources of information. No; there was one left. “Out of the mouth of babes,” I said to myself, and hunted up a child.

“Christmas? Don’t you know what Christmas means?” the child asked, in wide-eyed wonder. “I guess you haven’t been educated very well. But I’ll tell you all about it. Christmas is the day when Santa Claus was born and all the angels sang a song for the shepherds to listen to. And they told them to go around and give presents to each other forever after, world without end, amen. That’s why I always go to two Sunday schools a whole month before Christmas. They have trees and lights and candy and oranges in pink tissue paper, and Santa Claus is there himself and gives the things out, and the superintendent tells us what good children we are, and everybody eats a lot, and we get presents at home and turkey and hang our stockings up and everything. Didn’t you know that?”

“Well, not quite in that way,” I answered, catching feebly at a straw. “Isn’t there anything else?”

“Oh, parties and ice cream and candy canes and dolls and holly berries and mince pie and— —”

“And the people are just the same as any other day?” I interrupted.

“Well, no,” the child answered reflectively. “I think everybody tries to be a little extra nice. Papa doesn’t say a cross word to mamma all day, and I let my little brother play with my toys if he wants to, and the cook doesn’t chase us out of the kitchen when we come to smell the turkey roasting. She gives us little heart-shaped ginger cakes instead. I guess everybody loves everybody else on Christmas Day.”

“At last!” I breathed, with a sigh of relief.

Was Jesus Born Away in a Manger at Migdal Eder?

Why were the Shepherds the first people to find out about the birth of Jesus? And what an amazing way they found out about it! Another interesting theory..... from https://www.patheos.com/blogs/faithwalkers/2012/12/was-jesus-born-away-in-a-manger-at-migdal-eder/      Although Jesus was not born on Christmas (as the article hints at, they do admit that special sheep were raised near Bethlehem to be sacrificed at The Temple- as Jesus was)

The three wise men who likely weren’t three and didn’t show up until two years later.  The star hovering just above the quaint wooden structure that looks more like an English countryside barn than the back end of an inn. The all-too-pristine setting after an impromptu birth.

I thought I had heard it all.

I even shared a take on The Christmas Message based on the traditional interpretation just a few days ago. I thought I understood the Christmas story pretty well after nearly four decades of being steeped in Christianity.

Until I heard the theory that Jesus was born away in a manger — but at Migdal Eder and not in a cramped and filthy cave behind a crowded inn.

Migdal What?!

Migdal Eder seems to have been known as the “Tower of the Flock” located not far outside Bethlehem proper. The exact location is unknown though several credible sites have been suggested. Heretical, I know. But bear with me. I think the imagery alone makes it a theory worth considering.

It was Pastor Mark Spansel who offered the theory on the birthplace of Jesus in a recent sermon at our church, although it seems to have been Alfred Edersheim (1899) who gets most of the credit for breathing relatively new life into it. In Chapter 6 of The Life and Times of Jesus Messiah, he allegedly wrote:

And yet Jewish tradition may here prove both illustrative and helpful. That the Messiah was to be born in Bethlehem, was a settled conviction.

Equally so, was the belief , that He was to be revealed from Migdal Eder, ‘the tower of the flock.’ This Migdal Eder was not the watchtower for the ordinary flocks which pastured on the barren sheepground beyond Bethlehem, but lay close to the town, on the road to Jerusalem.

A passage in the Mishnah leads to the conclusion, that the flocks, which pastured there, were destined for Temple-sacrifices, and, accordingly, that the shepherds, who watched over them, were not ordinary shepherds.

The latter were under the ban of Rabbinism, on account of their necessary isolation from religious ordinances, and their manner of life, which rendered strict legal observance unlikely, if not absolutely impossible.

The same Mishnaic passage also leads us to infer, that these flocks lay out all the year round, since they are spoken of as in the fields thirty days before Passover–that is, in the month of February, when in Palestine [Israel] the average rainfall is nearly greatest.

Thus, Jewish tradition in some dim manner apprehended the first revelation of the Messiah from that Migdal Eder, where shepards watched the Temple-flocks all the year round. Of the deep symbolic significance of such a coincidence, it is needless to speak. [emphasis mine]

Here’s the theory in summary. There was place just outside of Bethlehem city, but still within the region commonly known as Bethlehem, where Passover lambs were kept by specially trained and purified shepherds. The lambs were born in this “tower of the flock” known as Migdal Eder under the watchful eye of the shepherds who would then inspect and either certify them for use as sacrifices in the temple or designate them to be released for common use. The new lambs would, according to some sources, even be wrapped in special swaddling clothes once certified.

YOU'VE NEVER HEARD THIS ABOUT JESUS IN THE MANGER

Although not on Christmas Day- Dec 25th, Jesus was born, in a manger, and Shepards were there!   So here is Joe Kovacs take of the scene.

One of the most famous stories from the Bible is the account of the birth of baby Jesus.

Every year, it’s read aloud in churches and even re-enacted in plays and Nativity scenes, as shepherds are shown visiting the Son of God lying in a manger in the town of Bethlehem.

But is there something extremely important almost everyone is missing?

The answer is a resounding yes. One could even call it a yes on a biblical scale, because as we’re about to see, there is so much more that can be seen and heard when we keep our spiritual eyes and ears open to some profound truths that God has been broadcasting in Scripture for thousands of years.

No matter how many times we read the words on the pages of our Bible, there always seems to be more to learn, a deeper meaning that helps us make the transition from spiritual milk to spiritual meat. So let’s dive into Scripture to allow the Good News to become even more glorious, with all the credit going to God Almighty.

It’s already well-known that Jesus was born in the small town of Bethlehem, as His parents were law-abiding citizens who traveled there to pay their taxes as part of a census.

But why did God make it happen in Bethlehem?

And why was the Savior placed in a manger?

And what’s the real deal with the shepherds?

Jesus warned us about A False Christ

By Bob Barney-The Plain Truth

Matthew24a    In Matthew 24 Jesus told His disciples of specific warnings pointing the way to His second coming, the end of the age of man, and the establishment of His kingdom on earth. He said to them: “Do you see all these buildings? Truly I say to you, they will be so completely demolished that not one stone will be left on top of another!” As He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will lead many astray.” (Mathew 24: 3-5 in The Plain Truth Red Letter “Original Order” Bible by Bob Barney.)

When Jesus said this, He was speaking as prophet, knowing what the future would be. He understood that not only would false messiah's appear on the world stage and false religions, like Islam, He here was speaking of a time when many would come using His name, saying Jesus is the Christ and deceive many. This is false Christianity, and not false pagan religions that He is speaking of here. Unfortunately, most Christians mistakenly assume that Jesus was predicting the arrival of impostors, claiming to be Him, as the Antichrist will. THIS IS NOT the warning here! He is warning us and His disciples about FALSE CHRISTIANITY masquerading as the real thing!

In fact, history informs us that many did come in His name claiming to represent Him, and making the claim that Jesus was the Christ and that He rose from the dead. These were false Christians, not part of the true church of God that   deceived many in that very first century! Soon after Christ's ascension to heaven and the founding of the church in AD 31, another gospel began to be preached by false Christians, claiming to be from God, but were actually from Satan! In Galatians 1:6-7, we see they were already preaching a different gospel than Jesus' gospel of the kingdom of God. The apostle Paul also spoke of these false prophets preaching a different gospel in II Corinthians, the 11th chapter. To the church in the very first century, he wrote: “I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For you happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed."

Do you read what Paul is saying? Already in his day, a false Christian church had arose, claiming that Jesus was the Messiah PREACHING A FALSE GOSPEL! Jesus, like Paul, was warning that we are to be on the lookout for false Christians preaching a false gospel in Jesus' name! John tells us “Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” Jesus Himself makes the same claim that people can worship Christ, LOVE HIM and believe on Him, and yet be of the Devil! It is right here in Matthew 7

Fallen-church-icon        Again from “The Plain Truth Red Letter Bible”:
Matthew 7:21-27: Not everyone who says to me, 'LORD, LORD,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will tell Me in that day, 'LORD, LORD, didn't we prophesy by Your Name, by Your Name cast out demons, and by Your Name do many mighty works?' Then I will tell them, 'I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who work iniquity (who practice lawlessness).' Therefore, everyone who hears what I say and obeys it will be like a wise person who built a house on rock. Rain poured, and floods came. Winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not collapse, because its foundation was on rock. Everyone who hears My words, and doesn't do them is like like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell -- and great was its fall.”

This is a very tough line by Jesus Himself! Notice that confessing on Jesus, and saying that you 'believe on Him' means NOTHING for our salvation! In fact, He goes on to say that many who do miracles and 'love the Lord' will be sent away from Jesus during the first judgment day! Notice that churches do not teach this verse very often, because Jesus plainly states that one must believe and OBEY! Obeying means to follow the Law of God.

The true Church of God, the one that Jesus founded upon Himself, follows the Laws of God.... The Ten Commandments, including the Sabbath Day, and rejects Sunday worship, and the false gospel that Jesus came away to take away the Law (lawlessness). He did nothing of the sort!

Friends, these are quotes from the Bible. Yes, they are in my translated words, but look up the same verses in your Bibles and see if my modern English translation varies much from what all experts agree are the words Jesus and the New Testament writers wrote down in the first century. It is time that you begin to read the words ON THE PAGE and not listen to the words from some theologian or minister – they could be the same ones Jesus was warning you about in Matthew 24!

Winter Solstice from Pagans To Christmas

The winter solstice is the day of the year when the Northern Hemisphere has the fewest hours of sunlight and the Southern Hemisphere has the most.   For indigenous peoples, it has been a time to honor their ancient sun deity.   They passed their knowledge down to successive generations through complex stories and ritual practices.

At the time of the winter solstice they hold a multiday celebration, known as the Shalako festival.

The days for the celebration are selected by the religious leaders. The Zuni are intensely private, and most events are not for public viewing.

But what is shared with the public is near the end of the ceremony, when six Zuni men dress up and embody the spirit of giant bird deities.

These men carry the Zuni prayers for rain 'to all the corners of the earth.'

The Zuni deities are believed to provide 'blessings' and 'balance' for the coming seasons and agricultural year.

As religion scholar Tisa Wenger writes, 'The Zuni believe their ceremonies are necessary not just for the well-being of the tribe but for 'the entire world.'

The Terrorist who killed Hundreds in the Pan Am Bombing Living in America!

American Justice is a JOKE!  And the American People seems OK with it!

Syrian-born US father accused of Lockerbie 'bomber' is discovered living in Washington DC

Allegedly identified as Abu Elias, the father, who lives 20 miles from the Lockerbie Cairn Memorial in Washington DC, claims it was 'complete lies' that he was involved in the terror attack that killed 270 people 30 years ago. Elias hit out at former Cold War spy and author Douglas Boyd who claimed Libyan Abdelbaset al-Megrah - the man convicted of the attack- was falsely imprisoned. This comes after the daughter of a former terrorist said her father admitted to relatives that his cell leader, Ahmed Jibril (pictured), led the 1988 plot to down Pam Am 103, which was blown up by an explosive stored in a suitcase in the hold. Author Boyd, in his recent book Lockerbie: The Truth, claims it was Jibril's nephew Elias that broke into the baggage storage at Heathrow to plant the device.

Who Was Against Christmas?

By Paul V.M. Flesher

Picture the following scenario. Crowds of Americans rioting in the streets. Two opposing groups shout loudly, vying to have their messages heard and heeded. The groups meet. Confrontation ensues. Fistfights break out. Church windows are smashed. What are these rioters fighting about? Christmas. One group favors celebrating Christmas, the other opposes all Christmas observances. This isn't an imaginary event, it is history. It happened in Boston on Christmas day in 1706.

In America's increasing love-affair with Christmas (both the Christian and commercial versions), we have forgotten that there was a time when much of European and American Christianity thought that Christmas should not be celebrated. In the riot described previously, the anti-Christmas group consisted largely of Congregationalists (Puritan descendants), Baptists, and Presbyterians, while the pro-Christmas group comprised mostly Anglicans (Episcopalians). The notion that Christians of any stripe should not want to celebrate Christmas is so foreign to our present concept of the holiday, that we need to review some history to understand it.

Prior to the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s, Roman Catholicism celebrated the "Christ Mass." It was one of many special masses and feasts of the Catholic Church celebrating key events in Jesus' life or the birthdays of saints. The three main Protestant movements that ultimately came to America had three different reactions to this situation.

First, although the Anglican Church developed a Protestant theology, it kept much of Catholic liturgy, including festivals celebrating aspects of Christ's life and the feast days of many saints. It gave special emphasis to the celebration of Christmas.

Second, after Martin Luther nailed his "95 Theses" to the door of the Wittenberg Cathedral in 1517, special liturgical observances began to be frowned upon. The Lutherans thought that the celebrations of saints' days were too much and so cancelled them. But they still emphasized observing events in Jesus' life, and so continued with joyous Christmas festivities.

Third, the Calvinists in Switzerland banned all Christian holy days not mentioned in Scripture. That approach meant that the Sabbath was acceptable, but nothing else. Christmas, Easter, Pentecost and other celebrations were to be treated as normal days with nothing special about them.

The Calvinist position came to be quite influential in Great Britain, even though it never altered the position of the Anglican Church. John Knox brought Calvinism to Scotland as Presbyterianism where Christmas was banned in 1583, while the Puritans brought Calvinism into England, where it became influential in circles both within and outside of the Anglican Church. During the Civil War in 1647, Oliver Cromwell and his Puritan followers outlawed Christmas observance. It was brought back in 1660 at the restoration of the monarchy under Charles II.

From England, both sides brought their Christmas beliefs to America. The Puritans (later becoming the Congregationalists) were joined by Presbyterians, Quakers, Methodists (despite their founders' pro-Christmas predilections), and Baptists on the anti-Christmas side, while the Anglicans dominated the pro-Christmas side, and were later joined by the Lutherans and the Dutch Reformed.

In Boston, the Puritans outlawed Christmas in 1659. Although the ban was lifted in 1681 when the British government took control of the colony, an armed guard had to protect the governor on his way to church on Christmas of 1686. When the colony reverted to local control in 1689, Christmas again fell out of favor.

The objection to Christmas by Americans was two-fold. First, for Calvinist theology, it reflected the pagan character of Catholic worship. Christmas was not a biblical holiday and had not even become a Christian festival before the late 300s; it was a creation of the church, not of Christ. Second, the holiday was accompanied by extensive reveling. Celebrations were not primarily worshipful, but involved feasting, game playing, heavy drinking, shooting, and gambling. For the over-indulgers, it brought out the worst of their excesses. Since the holiday celebrated the Savior's birth, such immoral behavior was seen as sacrilegious.

During the 18th century, Christmas observance began to be more accepted. Church-goers turned their attention to purifying the holiday of its excesses, rather than rejecting it altogether. By the 1750s, even New England hymn books contained Christmas carols. By the early 1800s, Christmas was observed with an emphasis on family and children.

In 1836, Alabama became the first state to make Christmas a legal holiday. Other states followed suit; even Massachusetts legalized Christmas in 1856, almost 200 years after its ban. But the last state, Oklahoma, did not join in until 1907. So next Christmas, 2007, will be the centenary of Christmas being the first religious holiday whose celebration across the United States is sanctioned by law.

Excerpts from Fox News John Gibson's Book "The War on Christmas...."

As a matter of American history, however, some of the strongest complaints about the public celebration of Christmas have been lodged from within the Christian tradition—by devout Christians who had little use for the holiday. For a surprising number of American believers, the chief concern wasn't putting Christ back into Christmas. It was taking Christmas out of Christianity.

Liberal plots notwithstanding, the Americans who succeeded in banning the holiday were the Puritans of 17th-century Massachusetts. Between 1659 and 1681, Christmas celebrations were outlawed in the colony, and the law declared that anyone caught "observing, by abstinence from labor, feasting or any other way any such days as Christmas day, shall pay for every such offense five shillings." Finding no biblical authority for celebrating Jesus' birth on Dec. 25, the theocrats who ran Massachusetts regarded the holiday as a mere human invention, a remnant of a heathen past. They also disapproved of the rowdy celebrations that went along with it. "How few there are comparatively that spend those holidays … after an holy manner," the Rev. Increase Mather lamented in 1687. "But they are consumed in Compotations, in Interludes, in playing at Cards, in Revellings, in excess of Wine, in Mad Mirth."

After the English Restoration government reclaimed control of Massachusetts from the Puritans in the 1680s, one of the first acts of the newly appointed royal governor of the colony was to sponsor and attend Christmas religious services. Perhaps fearing a militant Puritan backlash, for the 1686 services he was flanked by redcoats. The Puritan disdain for the holiday endured: As late as 1869, public-school kids in Boston could be expelled for skipping class on Christmas Day.

The Puritans are the most cited example of anti-Christmas spirit, but not the only one. Quakers, too, took a pass, reasoning that, in the words of 17th-century Quaker apologist Robert Barclay, "All days are alike holy in the sight of God." The Quakers never translated their dismissal of Christmas into legislation in their stronghold in Colonial Pennsylvania. But local meetings, as the Quakers call their assemblies, urged their members to disdain Christmas and to be "zealous in their testimony against the holding up of such days." As late as 1810, the Philadelphia Democratic Press reported that few Pennsylvanians celebrated the holiday.

Observance of Christmas, or the lack thereof, was one way to differentiate among the Christian sects of Colonial and 19th-century America. Anglicans, Moravians, Dutch Reformed, and Lutherans, to name just a few, did; Quakers, Puritans, Separatists, Baptists, and some Presbyterians did not. An 1855 New York Times report on Christmas services in the city noted that Baptist and Methodist churches were closed because they "do not accept the day as a holy one," while Episcopal and Catholic churches were open and "decked with evergreens." New England Congregationalist preacher Henry Ward Beecher remembered decorative greenery as an exotic touch that one could see only in Episcopal churches, "a Romish institution kept up by the Romish church."

Naturally, some celebrants of the holiday complained about the abstainers. In 1867, Reformed Church minister Henry Harbaugh protested that Presbyterians in his Pennsylvania neighborhood "spend the day working as on any other day. Their children grow up knowing nothing of brightly lit Christmas trees, nor Christmas presents. God have mercy on these Presbyterians, these pagans." You can hear the echo of that sentiment today, in the criticism of the megachurches that have announced that they will be closed on Christmas, because their leaders think congregations and church staff would rather remain home with their families. "Our culture does not need any encouragement to be more self-centered or narcissistic, or to stay at home on Sunday," Bible scholar Ben Witherington III wrote on Beliefnet last week. "Shame on you, megachurches."

Gibson briefly refers to the Puritan ban on the holiday but otherwise avoids any mention of division within the Christian tradition over how to celebrate it. His "war on Christmas" is purely a clash between secularists and believers. It's worth remembering, however, that in past American battles over Christmas, the combatants on both sides were Christian soldiers.

A warning to America

 By Bob Barney

I have written a new translation of the Bible that took over four years in the making of the Bible in Paperback on Amazon. The following is an excerpt of warnings to both Christians and the people of the United States of America. They are not from me but direct quotes from God and the Bible. I have, with poetic license, merged many warnings from different passages to bring clarity. I have combined God's warnings in Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 also adding other prophetic verses from the Old and New Testaments including Christ and His apostles.

3

There are two peoples that the Bible talks about and is written for. The first people, are the Children of Jacob (Israel), as they are God's chosen people. The second are Christians, an even higher order of the chosen people. Unlike the first group, Israel, anyone can be a Christian! Israelites do not imply that they are Christians. Many are, many are not. They are who they are by DNA; whereas Christians are who they are by invisible spirit; The Holy Spirit. However, many Christians are also Israelites, but most of those don't realize it! The nation of Israel is made up of
12 nations! Nations are not small populations of tribal families. Germany, Iran, Russia, the USA are nations. One of the most misunderstood teachings of the Bible is the identity of Israel. Most people believe that this simply is another name for Jews. IT IS NOT! Yes, all Jews are Israelites, but not all Israelites are Jews! The children of Joseph are not Jews, nor are the children of Dan, Rueben, Issachar, Simeon, etc. These other nations have not and are not Jews! God told Abraham and later Jacob, that their descendants would never be able to be counted, because there would be so many of them. Are Jews that numerous? No they are not, and have never been! The promise of a huge large nation was given to the two sons of Joseph. God said that these two nations (the younger son becoming the 13th nation of Israel) would be the two most powerful nations to ever sit on the face of man's world. Too numerous to count, living in a “promised land,” flowing with milk and honey. What two nations fulfill God's world? The answer is simple. The people of America and those of Great Britain. If you are English, or an American of English, Irish, Scottish, Danish, Scandinavian, Dutch or French heritage, you too are Israelites, and every Bible prophecy that applies to “Israel” applies to you! The warnings to the children of Jacob applies to you, whether you are a Christian or not. You cannot escape your DNA no more than a Jew can. Check out my article on this subject in great detail here!

A GREAT TRIBULATION is coming. The Bible DOES NOT promise a pre-Tribulation Rapture! If you are alive during this time, you will go through this terrible event, Christian or not, so if we are living in the End Times, it may be a smart thing to be prepared! Again, the following are God's words, not mine..
