Apollo 13, the Number 13, Israel and the USA

Apollo 13 was the seventh manned mission in the Apollo space program and the third intended to land on the Moon. The craft was launched on April 11, 1970 at 13:13 (military time) or 1:13.  However fate happened and the lunar landing was aborted after an oxygen tank exploded two days later, crippling the Service Module (SM) upon which the Command Module (CM) had depended. Despite great hardship caused by limited power, loss of cabin heat, shortage of potable water, and the critical need to make makeshift repairs to the carbon dioxide removal system, the crew returned safely to Earth on April 17, 1970, six days after launch. The mission was commanded by James A. Lovell with John L. "Jack" Swigert as Command Module Pilot and Fred W. Haise as Lunar Module Pilot. Swigert was a late replacement for the original CM pilot Ken Mattingly, who was grounded by the flight surgeon after exposure to German measles.  The oxygen tank explosion happened on the 13th of April.  Yes the number 13 is all around the mission. We all know the story, Tom Hank's memorable Apollo 13 movie was a smash hit, but was a message from God hidden into the mission?  Superstition? No.  A coincidence? Maybe......  God is the greatest mathematician of all time.  After all God invented math, the universe is based on God Made physics and most bible experts know that numbers mean things to God and his prophets.

 GOD and NUMBERS

1)  No s

urprise, but 1 is obviously used throughout the Bible to indicate one thing only, God.. “The one true God.” The First Commandment is “Thou shalt have no other gods besides me.” Deuteronomy 6:4: “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.”  Numerology seems to be more than just coincidence to God....

7) Probably the most important number found in the Bible.  God rested on the 7th day and commanded us to do the same.  Many Holy days fall on divisions of 7 as well as Holy Years (i.e the 7th year Sabbath of the land).

The first sentence of the first verse of the Old Testament, in the original Hebrew, has 7 words. The first sentence of the first verse of the Gospel of Mark, which was the first to be written, has 7 words.

The Bible uses 7 to indicate perfection.   God is said in Revelation to have 7 Spirits, depicted as 7 lamp stands. The 7 candelabra (menorah) set on the Tabernacle in Exodus and Deuteronomy are an homage to God’s “sevenfold Spirit.”

Many think Noah took 2 of every kind animal on the ark, but that is not the case.  He took a pair of every UNCLEAN animal in the ark, but of the clean animals (one's we can eat)  he took 7 pairs for each species.  Joshua led the Israelites, with the Ark, 7 times around Jericho

When Jesus fed 4,000, his Disciples pick up 7 basketfuls afterward. He feeds this multitude with 7 loaves of bread, plus some fish. He feeds the 5,000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. (5+2=7).

Although it may seem quite contrived, it is not to consider that Jesus is popularly thought to have suffered 5 wounds on the Cross: two nails in his hands, one in his feet, the crown of thorns, and the spear in his side; whereas, he can be more properly thought of as suffering 7 wounds: both hands, the thorns, the spear, the flogging itself, and both feet. The feet were nailed apart to the sides of the cross, through the heel bones, since the bones would support the weight of the victim on the nails. A single nail through the top of the feet will not.

The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ was written and sent to the 7 major churches of Asia minor. The Tribulation will last 7 years.

12) The number twelve is very important to God.   It represents the number of perfection and authority.    The most obvious example of 12 are the 12 tribes of Israel, mentioned many times throughout the Bible. Revelation incorporates multiple uses of 12. After the Tribulation begins, Christians will have already been Raptured to Heaven to spare them the horrors. 144,000 people, 12,000 from each tribe of Israel, will be converted to Christianity and die as martyrs under the reign of the Antichrist. The New Jerusalem, the city of Heaven, is described as having walls 144 cubits thick, symbolic of the 12 tribes and the 12 Apostles.

The foundations of the walls are made of 12 precious stones. The city is foursquare, with walls 12,000 stadia, or furlongs, long, wide, and high. Stadia and furlongs are not the same length, but are close. The former equates to about 1,400 miles, the latter to about 1,500 miles. There are 3 gates in each side, for 12 total. These are made of single pearls, giving us the phrase “pearly gates.” Inside, the Tree of Life yields 12 different kinds of fruits.

Daniel is also concerned

with the time of the end, and Daniel has 12 chapters. Daniel 12:12 states, “Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.” 1 plus 3 plus 3 plus 5 equals 12.

13) The number 13 is a significant number in the Bible. There is much confusion regarding the number.  According to Jewish tradition, the number 13 is a very significant one and considered to be a blessed number.  When a Jewish boy comes of age at 13 years old he has become a Bar Mitzvah and he is obligated to observe the commandments. He is also recognized as having the same rights and responsibilities as an adult. A Jewish girl, celebrates her Bat Mitzvah when she turns 12. Although not BIBLICAL, it is worth noting.

Probably the most notable mention of the number 13 (in actuality "13" is never stated but implied as fact) is that of the tribes of Israel.  The number 13, of course, was the number of the tribes of ancient Israel, since  the tribe of Joseph became two tribes: Ephraim and Manasseh.  There were twelve tribes  of Israel, but Joseph had two sons and each of them b

ecame a tribe; hence, there were  thirteen tribes in all, with Ephraim, the youngest son, being number 13.  In a previous article, we showed that the United States of America is the 13th tribe of Israel (now lost).  It is the number that symbolizes our nation, and allows us to understand our identity so we can know who we are in the Bible, and what our heritage is.

This 13th tribe (Ephraim) is modern day America!

Ephraim, God says in His Word, has been a very unruly child; very rebellious! God says, "I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; for now, O Ephraim, you have played the whore; Israel is defiled. Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God.  For the spirit of whoredom is within them, and they do not know the LORD"(Hosea 5:3-4, NRSV).   "Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.  When their drinking
is ended, they indulge in sexual orgies; they love lewdness more than their glory" (Hos.4:17-18).

God speaks of the "corruption of Ephraim" (Hos.7:1).  He says,  "Woe to them, for they have strayed from me!  Destruction to them, for they have rebelled against me!"(Hosea 7:13).  "Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because he was determined to go after vanity.  Therefore I am like maggots to Ephraim . . ." (Hos.5:11-12).

Nevertheless, God loves His people.  The day is coming when they will be punished; severely, and they will repent!  God declares, "Indeed I heard Ephraim pleading:  'You disciplined me, and I took the discipline; I was like a calf untrained.  Bring me back, let me come back, for you are the Lord my God. For after I had turned away I repented; and after I was discovered I struck my thigh; I was ashamed, and I was dismayed because I bore the disgrace of my youth'" (Jeremiah 31:18-19, NRSV).

God says, "Is Ephraim my dear son?  Is he the child I delight in?  As often as I speak against him, I still remember him.  Therefore I am deeply moved for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the LORD" (Jer.31:20).

God says further to Ephraim and wayward Israel, "Set up road markers for yourself, make yourself guideposts; consider well the highway, the road by which you went.  Return, O virgin Israel, return to these your cities.  How long will you waver, O faithless daughter?  For the LORD has created a
new thing on the earth:  a woman encompasses a man" (Jer.31:21-22).

Although Ephraim has grievously sinned, there will be pardon and mercy for him.  When he repents, God will sweep him up in His everlasting, loving arms, and embrace him once again!    Until that time comes, however, Ephraim may be called the ìtribe of rebellion.  As such, its identifying number is, once again, the number 13: the number of rebellion!

How plain can it be?  How plain can it get?

The United States of America was BORN in revolution!  It began its existence in REBELLION against the British Empire in 1776!  It is characterized by the spirit of independence and rebellion"  "don't tell me what to do!"  "I'll do it MY way," as the old Frank Sinatra song has it!

The number 13 identifies ancient Ephraim, the tribe of rebellion.  The number “13” identifies the United States of America, the nation born in rebellion!  The number 13 is stamped all over our forehead and on our hands; in our flag, our national seal, on our currency, and throughout our very history.

Israel Two things equal to the same thing are equal to each other.  The tribe of Ephraim equals “13” and the United States of America equals “13.”  Therefore they are EQUAL TO EACH OTHER!  The United States STANDS IDENTIFED AS MODERN-DAY EPHRAIM!

What about Manasseh?  Manasseh was not known as a leader of rebellion.  The older brother of Ephraim was not so wild, or cowboyish, or rambunctious; but much more sedate, aloof, dignified, aristocratic - like the British!

Manasseh's number would not be thirteen, the number of rebellion and apostasy!  That reproach belongs to Ephraim, which was by several measures, the thirteenth tribe, both in time-order, birth-order, finality, and superabundance ñ and in the  number of rebellion.

What could be clearer than that?

To continue insisting that America is Manasseh and Great Britain is Ephraim is to get it all backwards; to put black for white-- to mix up the identities of the two sons of Joseph.  The children were not mixed up at birth.  Nor should they be mixed up and mis-identified, today!

Ephraim, as always, has been and is the LEADER of the northern ten tribes of Israel.  That world leader is the United States of America, for better or for worse!  When we understand this vital truth of Biblical identity, it helps us to unravel and understand the enormously important prophecies of the book of Hosea, which is largely directed against Ephraim, the leader, and the idolatrous nation, in the last days!
