Historic meeting between Pope Francis and Russian Orthodox head 'getting closer'

image from bibleencyclopedia.comAn historic meeting between Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church is "getting closer every day," a senior Orthodox prelate said in an interview published on 28 June.

The unprecedented meeting would be a significant step towards healing the 1,000-year-old rift between the Western and Eastern branches of Christianity, which split in the Great Schism of 1054.

"Now such a meeting is getting closer every day but it must be well prepared," Metropolitan Hilarion, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church's foreign relations department, said in an interview with Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper.

image from image.slidesharecdn.comMonday’s big election law news came from the Supreme Court’s penultimate decision of the term upholding Arizona’s congressional districts.

But before handing down its last three decisions, the court made voting-rights advocates happy by deciding not to review a different election case.

“Arizona citizens can continue to participate in voter registration drives without worrying about not having proof of citizenship documents,” Shirley Sandelands, of the League of Women Voters of Arizona, said in a statement Monday.

The case, Kobach, et al. v. Election Assistance Commission, et al., was about whether Arizona and Kansas could require voters to prove their citizenship when registering to vote with the so-called “federal form.” Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach led the suit against the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, which was an appeal of a lower court decision.

Both Kansas and Arizona have state laws that require applicants to prove their citizenship when applying to vote with state forms (for state or federal elections). But the U.S. EAC denied the states’ requests to have their citizenship laws applied when would-be voters use the standardized federal form.

Four stories tall, 510 feet long and made of wood: Christian ministry unveils 'life-sized' Noah's Ark

It will be a modern-day, 'life-sized' replica of Noah's Ark.

But unlike the Biblical vessel, it will be filled with millions of tourists - not animals.

These photos show the first few wooden ribs being lifted into place at Ark Encounter - a planned visitor attraction featuring an enormous ark that 'will be the largest timber-frame structure in the world'.

The 510-foot-long replica, situated in a field in Williamstown, Kentucky, is being constructed according to the dimensions used by Noah to save his family and animals in the Old Testament flooding story.

Model: This image shows a model of the Ark, which will be at the center of the religious attraction. There are three towers to which the Ark is anchored. The middle tower contains stairs and four levels of rest rooms (one for each deck and one for the roof-top restaurant). The other two towers contain stairs and elevators

A President only for Black People: 'I'm running for Senate to deal with serious issues blacks face here'

Obama's half-brother sells revealing handwritten letter from 1995 in which president-to-be reveals political ambitions

President Obama's half-brother has sold a handwritten letter the president sent him 20 years ago - revealing he planned to venture into politics to tackle 'some serious issues blacks face here'.

It is the third personal note Malik Abongo 'Roy' Obama has auctioned in recent years.

But this, dated 23 July 1995, is perhaps the most revealing about the president-to-be's political ambitions.

'Some colleagues of mine here have talked me into running for the Illinois State Senate (like being an MP for a province),' Obama, then a 33-year-old lawyer in Chicago, wrote to his paternal brother in Kenya.

'I have agreed, since I have an interest in politics to deal with some serious issues blacks face here.'

Gohmert: ‘If There’s a God, As the Bible Talks About, There’ll be Price to This Nation For Acting in Such a Way’

, member of the United States House of Represe..., member of the United States House of Representatives (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

( - Rep. Louie Gohmert (R.-Texas) said on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives yesterday that God may make the United States pay a price because, Gohmert said, the Obama administration has been telling people in Africa it will help them counter radical Islam but only if they abandon their Christian views on abortion and same-sex marriage.

“Only if you will violate your Christian beliefs will we be willing to come help you,” Gohmert said, summarizing his understanding of the administration’s view. “If there is a God as the Bible talks about, there will be a price to this Nation for acting in such a way.”

Here is an excerpt from Gohmert’s speech, which has been published in the Congressional Record:

Fox News fires Bob Beckel

Fox News has fired one of their hosts and issued a scathing statement announcing the news.   Bob Beckel, the former Democratic consultant who appeared on the network's popular show The Five, has been let go from his job.  The news comes just two months after Fox announced the Beckel was battling an addiction to prescription pills.   Beckel is not the first person at the network to struggle with addiction, with Gregg Jarrett taking a six-month hiatus last year after an incident at a Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport bar.

image from was on his way home from an alcohol and chemical dependency treatment facility when he was arrested while drunk and carrying prescription pills in his pocket.   He later confessed to being an alcoholic and thanked Roger Alies, the chairman and CEO of Fox News, for saving his life when he returned to the air in December 2014. Alies himself may be a target of the Murdoch kids, who are taking control of FOX from their father, and are very liberal and anti-Fox News.

'We tried to work with Bob for months, but we couldn’t hold The Five hostage to one man’s personal issues,' Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, said in a statement obtained by Politico.

'He took tremendous advantage of our generosity, empathy and goodwill and we simply came to the end of the road with him.'

Fox News personalities Juan Williams and Geraldo Rivera will be among those filling in for Beckel in his absence added Shine.

Supreme Court OK's Queer Marriage

  • image from www.swade.netRom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

Once again the nation inches closer to ruin, as our leaders impose homosexual marriage on 98% of the nation who doesn't practice it. God will not be mocked, and our time is running short. The people of this nation are allowing God to be replaced with paganistic evil.  We will reap the rewards...

(TELEGRAPH) — Traditional Christian teaching could effectively be “criminalised” in some settings under David Cameron’s plans for new anti-extremist banning orders, a top Anglican theologian and former Parliamentary draftsman has warned.

The Rev Dr Mike Ovey, a former lawyer and now principal of Oak Hill Theological College in London, a training school for Church of England clergy, said proposals for new “Extremism Disruption Orders” could be a “disaster area” for people from all the mainstream religions and none.

Mr Cameron and Theresa May have signalled that the new orders, planned as part of the Government’s Counter-Extremism Bill, would not curb the activities of radical Islamist clerics but the promotion of other views deemed to go against “British values” even if it is non-violent and legal.

Ministers have defined British values in the past as including broad notions like democracy, tolerance and the rule of law.

eBay, Amazon Pulling Down Confederate Flag Merchandise- NAZI Flags OK--UPDATED

image from mediad.publicbroadcasting.netCalling it a “contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism,” eBay said Tuesday that it will ban the sale of Confederate flags and similarly themed merchandise.

“This decision is consistent with our long-standing policy that prohibits items that promote or glorify hatred, violence and racial intolerance,” said eBay spokeswoman Johnna Hoff.

The e-commerce company is the latest to prohibit the sale of Confederate merchandise following Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Sears Holdings Corp. The shooting deaths of nine black church members last week in South Carolina has reignited debate on what the flag symbolizes.

TIME reports that Amazon is also pulling down its Confederate flag merchandise.

You can however still buy NAZI Flags, as I guess 20 million deaths are that important to EBAY

Pope's science adviser believes in 'Gaia, not God'

No Big Surprise here- just study the true origins of the Pope

image from

(STREAM.ORG) — St. Francis of Assisi’s hymn Laudato Si’ spoke of “Brothers” Sun and Fire and “Sisters” Moon and Water, using these colorful phrases figuratively, as a way of praising God’s creation. These sentimental words so touched Pope Francis that he named his encyclical after this canticle (repeated in paragraph 87 of the Holy Father’s letter).

Neither Pope Francis nor St. Francis took the words literally, of course. Neither believed that fire was alive and could be talked to or reasoned with or, worse, worshiped. Strange, then, that a self-professed atheist and scientific advisor to the Vatican named Hans Schellnhuber appears to believe in a Mother Earth.

The Gaia Principle, first advanced by chemist James Lovelock (who has lately had second thoughts) and microbiologist Lynn Margulis in the 1970s, says that all life interacts with the Earth, and the Earth with all life, to form a giant self-regulating, living system.

This goes far beyond the fact that the Earth’s climate system has feedbacks, which are at the very center of the debate over climate change. In the Gaia Principle, Mother Earth is alive, and even, some think, aware in some ill-defined, mystical way. The Earth knows man and his activities and, frankly, isn’t too happy with him.

EXCLUSIVE: Whole Foods chain faces city probe after investigators found ‘worst case of overcharges’

Rip-off on aisle four.

The city has launched a probe of Whole Foods Markets after investigators nabbed the upscale food purveyor for routinely overcharging customers on groceries during dozens of inspections dating back to at least 2010, the Daily News has learned.

The most recent spate of violations came during a sting operation the Department of Consumer Affairs conducted in the fall that specifically checked the accuracy of the weight marked on pre-packaged products.

Inspectors weighed 80 different types of items at Whole Foods’ eight locations in the city that were open at the time. They found every label was inaccurate, with many overcharging consumers, agency spokeswoman Abby Lootens told The News.

Whole Foods spokesman Michael Sinatra said the Texas-based chain "never intentionally used deceptive practices to incorrectly charge customers."

Sinatra said Whole Foods disagrees with the city's findings and is "vigorously defending" itself against the allegations. Sinatra also noted that the store always refunds any items found to have been incorrectly priced.  MORE

Limbaugh: American flag next target to come down

image from www.wnd.comAs the push grows to remove Confederate flags from Southern states as well as retail stores such as Walmart and Sears nationwide, talk-radio star Rush Limbaugh is making a startling prediction.

“The next flag that will come under assault, and it will not be long, is the American flag,” Limbaugh said Tuesday on his national program. “It is gonna happen. We are trending that way.”

“It makes perfect sense,” he continued. “If you take a look at the timeline of progression of events, the speed and rapidity with which the left is conducting this assault on all of these American traditions and institutions, if you don’t think the American flag’s in their crosshairs down the road, you had better stop and reconsider.

“The American flag is what? It’s the symbol of America. The left, what? Doesn’t like this country very much and never has and it’s getting angrier and angrier about it seemingly every day. The American flag stands for the United States of America and as such, everything that’s wrong with it. And you wait, it isn’t gonna be long before the American flag is gonna cause chills, fear, scary thoughts … [because] it’s a symbol of hate.”

Limbaugh said those on the political left are under the impression that just seeing the Stars and Stripes can cause people to tilt toward the political right.

“They believe the American flag has mystical powers to turn people away from the Democratic Party,” he explained, saying they fear it “results in them losing support.”

“The 4th of July parade is uberpatriotism, and that is showing Dracula the cross.”

"Free Trade" Kills Jobs

image from www.aflcio.orgDespite promises that free trade agreements would increase job creation in the U.S., close to 700,000 jobs have been lost as a result of the passage of NAFTA in 1993, according to a new study by Economic Policy Institute senior economist Robert Scott.

According to the analysis, if NAFTA had not been enacted, tariffs on goods passing between the two countries not eliminated, and important features of Mexico's social welfare state not eradicated in 1994, U.S. trade with Mexico would have supported approximately 1.5 million jobs in 2010 in the U.S.

That number came in at just under 800,000 last year, however. In other words, on average more than 40,000 jobs in the U.S. have been lost each year since the passage of NAFTA due to the growing trade deficit with that country.

The study further noted that "[e]ven if increased demand in other sectors absorbs all the workers displaced by trade (an unlikely event), job quality is likely to suffer, as many non-trade-related industries … pay lower wages and have less comprehensive benefits than trade-related industries."  MORE

Was America established Christian at state level?

Dr. Franklin, who called for prayer at the Constitutional Convention, June 28, 1787, stated: “In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor. … I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth – that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? …”

Franklin continued: “We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that ‘except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.’ … I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the Builders of Babel … I therefore beg leave to move – that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business.”

Ronald Reagan carried a handgun in his briefcase at all times during his administration

Ronald Reagan carried a gun with him at all times and stashed it in his briefcase whilst he was away on official business.  An American author has claimed that the former president never left the White House without a .38 caliber pistol by his side.  He even took it on Air Force One in case a disturbance broke out in mid-air said Brad Meltzer, who writes political thrillers.

Meltzer did not specify when the President started carrying the firearm, though it could well have been after the attempt on his life.

On March 30, 1981, Reagan and three others were shot by would-be assassin John Hinckley Jr.  Reagan was the first serving president to survive an assassination attempt .

In an article in the New York Daily News, Meltzer said that on a tour of the Secret Service headquarters whilst researching his latest book, he came across the actual car door from the limousine where Reagan was shot.

Deleting your browser history could land you in court

Web browserWeb browser (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Can you believe this? Big Bro now may send you to jail for deleting your browser history! When will conservatives wake up and see what the Patriot Act and other Big Brother Laws are doing to our liberty?

Many Internet users delete their browser history and clear their cache and cookies without thinking twice about it. It's just one of those things you do — some more often than others — if you own and use a computer.

"If you don't clear this information, it's there for someone to come along and retrieve — either by sitting down at your computer or remotely if you visit vicious websites or get a virus," said a Patrol Tech expert.

But the recent Boston Marathon bombing trial has brought to light a law, ratified in 2002, that could land you with a federal charge of obstructing justice for — wait for it — clearing your browser history.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was initially created to combat corporate accounting scandals, like those of Enron and Worldcom in the late 1990s. Fast forward to today, and the law has become the basis for prosecuting individuals who delete their browser history if that browser history is considered evidence in a federal trial.   MORE PLUS VIDEO

Akhenaten and Moses

Forward By Bob Barney: There is strong evidence, and I tend to believe that King Akhenaten, meaning “Effective for Aten” (originally Amenhotep IV) was either the Biblical Hero "Joseph", or one of his children. This is why he knew the God named Jeh (Yahweh) and believed in the one true God.  It would make sense that Moses knew this long before the burning bush.....

Did the monotheism of Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten influence Moses?

Robin Ngo   •  06/10/2015

On this stela from El-Amarna, Egyptian King Akhenaten is seen with his wife Nefertiti and their daughters bearing offerings to the sun-disk Aten.

Defying centuries of traditional worship of the Egyptian pantheon, Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten decreed during his reign in the mid-14th century B.C.E. that his subjects were to worship only one god: the sun-disk Aten. Akhenaten is sometimes called the world’s first monotheist. Did his monotheism later influence Moses—and the birth of Israelite monotheism?

In “Did Akhenaten’s Monotheism Influence Moses?” in the July/August 2015 issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, University of California, Santa Barbara, emeritus professor of anthropology Brian Fagan discusses this tantalizing question.

The Secret History of SEAL Team 6: Quiet Killings and Blurred Lines

They have plotted deadly missions from secret bases in the badlands of Somalia. In Afghanistan, they have engaged in combat so intimate that they have emerged soaked in blood that was not their own. On clandestine raids in the dead of the night, their weapons of choice have ranged from customized carbines to primeval tomahawks.

Around the world, they have run spying stations disguised as commercial boats, posed as civilian employees of front companies and operated undercover at embassies as male-female pairs, tracking those the United States wants to kill or capture.

Those operations are part of the hidden history of the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, one of the nation’s most mythologized, most secretive and least scrutinized military organizations. Once a small group reserved for specialized but rare missions, the unit best known for killing Osama bin Laden has been transformed by more than a decade of combat into a global manhunting machine.

Why our Western diets and obsession with cleanliness are to blame for the soaring number of allergies

Western diets and an emphasis on sterile, germ-free food has made us more likely to allergies, new research suggests. A lack of bacteria in the gut means we are less equipped to deal with germs - meaning that our bodies often overreact when we come into contact with bugs, dust or pollen. The findings bolster the theory that modern obsession with hygiene and cleanliness has driven a boom in allergies and health problems.

According to the ‘hygiene hypothesis’, exposure to a wide range of bacteria is necessary to prime the immune system early in life. Many scientists believe that modern society, with its mania for sanitation and easy access to antibiotics, makes us hypersensitive to harmless allergens. The latest work, published today in the journal Cell Reports, compared the bacteria in the guts of people from the US and Papua New Guinea - one of the least industrialised nations on Earth.  The research, by Canadian and Australian scientists, found that people in the US had far smaller collection of bacteria - called the ‘microbiome’ - than people from Papua New Guinea.   Read more:
