Early Saturday evening, Sue Krentz, the widow of murdered Arizona rancher Robert Krentz was run over by a drunk driver, as she and a friend were leaving mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Douglas.
Mrs. Krentz was hit by a car driven by Ramon Parra Saucedo and the impact propelled her 30 feet from the wreck. She suffered a broken pelvis, serious head injuries and internal bleeding. She was airlifted to University Medical Center in Tucson, where she remains in critical condition.
Mrs. Krentz who required several blood transfusions is now reportedly conscious.
According to Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, Saucedo has been charged with DUI, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of endangerment. He is being held in the Cochise County Jail. MORE
Wheat crops in Western Australia, the nation’s largest growing-state last season, may receive some rain this week amid forecasts for declining production, a farmers’ group said.
“It will certainly be the last roll of the dice for a lot of people,” Mike Norton president of the Western Australian Farmers Federation, said today by phone. “In the last fortnight to three weeks the situation has deteriorated rapidly.”
A fisherman in Costa Rica has been explaining his unusual relationship with a crocodile called "Pocho", who he plays with like a pet dog. Chito says he found the reptile with a gunshot wound 20 years ago on the banks of the Parismina river and nursed him back to health at his home. He says he released Pocho into the wild but he followed him back, and the pair have been inseparable ever since.

NEW YORK (AP) - Second-graders who can't tie shoes or zip jackets. Four-year-olds in Pull-Ups diapers. Five-year-olds in strollers. Teens and preteens befuddled by can openers and ice-cube trays. College kids who've never done laundry, taken a bus alone or addressed an envelope.
Are we raising a generation of nincompoops? And do we have only ourselves to blame? Or are some of these things simply the result of kids growing up with push-button technology in an era when mechanical devices are gradually being replaced by electronics? MORE
"America is very close to a destructive tipping point," co-authors Glenn Hubbard and Peter Navarro warn in their new book Seeds of Destruction. "We must change how we conduct our politics and economics...or we will inevitably go the way of all once-great nations and suffer an irreversible decline."
Hubbard, dean of Columbia Business School, joined Dan Gross and I to discuss the "major structural imbalances" facing America, chief among them being the government's profligate spending.
Hubbard, you may recall, was chairman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers during George W. Bush's first term. As you might expect, he is a strong advocate of smaller government and lower taxes. But Hubbard and Navarro, a business professor at UC Irvine, are also harshly critical of Bush's "gross mismanagement" of the fiscal stimulus bequeathed to his administration by President Clinton. Specifically, Hubbard chastises his former boss for the creation of a new unfunded federal mandate, Medicare Part D. READ THE REST
WASHINGTON – Glenn Beck may pooh-pooh the issue of Barack Obama's presidential eligibility, but some of his most loyal fans are emphatic in demanding, "Where's the Birth Certificate?"
On Beck's own website, a thread started today shows those concerned about Obama's unwillingness to document that he is a "natural-born" citizen, as the Constitution requires, running 9-to-1 over those who believe it's a non-issue.
At 2:11 p.m., a reader posted a comment on his website, The Blaze, about Democratic House Majority Whip James Clyburn's warning that if the GOP takes control of Congress in January, it will issue subpoenas regarding Obama's eligibility.
A new survey of Americans' knowledge of religion found that atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons outperformed Protestants and Roman Catholics in answering questions about major religions, while many respondents could not correctly give the most basic tenets of their own faiths.
Forty-five percent of Roman Catholics who participated in the study didn't know that, according to church teaching, the bread and wine used in Holy Communion is not just a symbol, but becomes the body and blood of Christ.
More than half of Protestants could not identify Martin Luther as the person who inspired the Protestant Reformation. And about four in 10 Jews did not know that Maimonides, one of the greatest rabbis and intellectuals in history, was Jewish. READ MORE
Kenny Webb died a few days ago, and even though most RaceRap readers never heard of him, I think he was one of the greatest drivers of all time. On the track, he had amazing abilities, but that is not what made him the greatest driver whom I ever knew. It was his incredible attitude that I remember-- On and off the track. On the track, Kenny raced with the brains that knew how and when to make a move, and more importantly, when not to make a move. This inherit sense made him win and finish those races where the average "great" racer would not. I listen on TV about those drivers who race hard every lap and push their cars to the limit. That was NOT Kenny Webb. Those drivers whom the TV announcers love to glorify don't finish many of the races they could have if they only used the brains that God gave them. Kenny did just that. He used his brains and always calculated exactly what he was going to do, and had a good idea of the outcome before doing it. This is not to say that Kenny didn't race hard, and get down and dirty when he needed to. The black #2 "deuce" was often booed by the crowd for knocking someone out of his way. Usually when he did it, he wasn't involved and somehow had a good innocent reason for that move to the officials. Yes, Kenny knew how to race on the track. This made him the third all time winning driver at the Racearena and a champion during those years- included a track championship, in 1977, after he was seen as "washed up." I was a part of that championship winning 77 season when Kenny, in his own car (he often drove for others) beat the three in a row track chmapion Don LaJoie. It was quitye a season with some 7 feature wins with every one of them coming from the 16th position! (Danbury at a top 16 invert- BY POINTS!).
The greatness on the track was a small part of my estimation of Kenny Webb. It was his attitude that made him the greatest driver I ever knew. I grew up watching him race. As a boy, my oldest brother Vic was a Webb fan, I was a Paul Pettit fan. We still have home movies of me at age 6 wearing my Paul Pettit shirt! Later, as a teenager I became a Lajoie fan, and my friend and I built our own race car that we ran at Thompson (#711). It was the number I liked best. I lived in New Milford, and Don LaJoie lived in Norwalk-- a pretty long drive. I would spend many hours there at Don's wrecking yard asking him for pointers. One winter day in 1974, he said "why don't you just ask Kenny-he lives in your time, and I have learned a bunch from him." I went to see Kenny, who instantly took a liking to me and started helping us out. By 1976 we were very good friends and he asked me to join the pit crew as his tire guy and record keeper. Kenny was way ahead of his time. I took notes on weather, humidity, temperature, as well as every measurement and tire readings we knew about. It helped plenty setting up a car from week to week, based on the science of previous conditions. It worked. In 1976, the "washed up old man" scored very well and had a great season. LaJoie won the championship. In 1977 however, it was Kenny's year, winning not only the championship, but watching all of those long lost fans return after the races! Those few Stalwart fans in 75 and 76 started to become the flock of fans in 1977. By mid season, everyone was a Webb fan again. However, Kenny never changed! That is what impressed me about the guy. He was incredibly the same-- winning and losing, he was the same Kenny Webb, with a smile on his face and a complete knowledge of racing, and the fans. He understood when the fans went away, and wasn't bitter, and was the same nice guy when they came back - like they never left! He would say, "hey I understand. Barney'O-come (his nickname for me), when that rabbit's foot is with you, you can't do anything wrong, and when it leaves you, you can't do anything right. Just get used to it. It's life."
I remember him telling me the year when Don LaJoie's oldest boy (and Randy's older brother) was killed in a car wreck (non racing auto accident) and how it affected Don; Kenny said "I told him what I tell everyone in this sport. Anybody can be a winner, but it takes a real man to know how to lose." I never forgot those words. I never will. That sentence transformed Kenny Webb from a great racer, to the greatest I have ever known. Kenny knew how to be up or down, to win or lose. He was always the same Kenny Webb. I wish our young drivers of today would only practice these words in their own racing careers. The sport would be one of kings again, if they did. Kenny, I will miss you, and I will certainly always remember what you meant to me. May you rest in peace and until we meet again, I will remain your friend.

On May 5, Army spokeswoman Major Jennifer Willis told Reuters that at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan "the Bibles shown on Al Jazeera's clip were, in fact, collected by the chaplains and later destroyed. They were never distributed." Today, Christian Broadcasting's David Brody says "the Bibles were burned because the rules on the base say that all garbage is burned at the end of the day. But just asking here; if the U.S. Military seized a stack full of Korans, would they be burned? You think that might cause a little outrage in the Muslim world?" Brody also makes note of The Great Commission in the Book of Matthew where Jesus says "(G)o and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Sheriffs in North Carolina want access to state computer records identifying anyone with prescriptions for powerful painkillers and other controlled substances.
The state sheriff's association pushed the idea Tuesday, saying the move would help them make drug arrests and curb a growing problem of prescription drug abuse. But patient advocates say opening up people's medicine cabinets to law enforcement would deal a devastating blow to privacy rights.
Allowing sheriffs' offices and other law enforcement officials to use the state's computerized list would vastly widen the circle of people with access to information on prescriptions written for millions of people. As it stands now, doctors and pharmacists are the main users.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans already have marched on Washington, D.C., and millions have been energized by the nationwide tea-party movement, but from Sept. 9-12, the patriotic protesters will gather again in the nation's capital to pick up the tools they say are needed to "take back America."
More than just another rally, the 2010 March on D.C. is a four-day long series of events, combining the efforts of more than 50 grassroots organizations and targeted at training and equipping tea partiers to make a difference in the 2010 elections and beyond.
"This will be probably be the most important election in any of our lives," declares Stephani Scruggs, national co-chair of The 9.12 Project and president of Unite In Action, which have spearheaded organization of the event. "But November doesn't fix everything. We need to teach people how to protect their local areas, states and regions from sharia law, government land grabs, rogue school boards and any attempts to erode American freedom.
"So what we're doing is real, classroom training," Scruggs told WND. "There's been a lot of events with famous people and politicians talking, but what we wanted to do differently was to allow people to go home on the Monday afterward with the tools to preserve liberty for the long term."
The four-day event, which will be based at Washington's Omni Shoreham Hotel, will include a symposium of training events – including the Young Patriots Tour, the Religious Leaders Roundtable and others – as well as presentations and seminars by over a dozen grassroots groups, a concert, VIP reception, ladies' banquet and an expo featuring displays and exhibits from a myriad of tea-party organizations.
Best of all, Scruggs told WND, the Liberty XPO (Xhibit of Patriot Organizations) and Syposium, which includes the training seminars and presentations, will be free.
Cain thought he was the "Lord " since Eve exclaimed "I have gotten a man, a lord" (Gen.4:4). The name Cain came to mean "cohen" or "priest." Cain developed his own religion after being cut off from God. He thought he was the Savior. He created a priesthood. Since the name "CANNIBAL" (Cahna Baal) is a word which means "Baal Priest" and may be derived from the name "TUBAL-CAIN," some have concluded that Tubal-Cain was a descendant of this priesthood of Cain and that the religion of Cain had to do with CONSUMING of HUMAN FLESH -- mostly LITTLE CHILDREN. When Tubal-Cain's sister/wife Naamah married Noah, this Baal religion came through the flood. How else would Naamah learn about the false religion unless her brother was a priest of Cain? She came to be known as Naamah Isis, or NEMISIS, because she betrayed Noah by getting him drunk. She is the original prototype of the harlot of Revelation sitting on Babylon holding a cup of wine for the world to get drunk. She founded the Babylonian Mystery Religion with Ham's help. Their grandson was Nimrod. "Nimrod, as the representative of the devouring fire to which human victims, and especially CHILDREN, were offered in SACRIFICE, was regarded as the great CHILD-DEVOURER ... he was, of course the actual father of all the Babylonian gods; and, therefore, in that character he was afterwards universally regarded. As the father of the gods, he was called Kronos" (Lemp. Clas.Dict., Art. "Saturn") The literal meaning of BONFIRE is "BONE FIRE" [M.E. bonefyre, bone fire, later funeral pyre] because such a ritual fire came from the SACRIFICE of HUMANS. In this context, the fiery VOLCANO may also derive its name from TUBAL-CAIN.
A staggering turn in world events is due to erupt in the next few years. It will involve violently the United States, Britain, Western Europe, the Middle East. It's already rather late for the free world to come awake to the real meaning behind current world events! Why do not the world's leaders see what is coming? Why are the world's best minds unseeing - the heads of state, scientists, educators, editors, news analysts, bankers, industrialists, leaders in business and commerce? They are totally unaware! Why?
Because they have been falsely educated and deceived into closing their minds to the great causes behind world events and trends. This world has been falsely educated to ignore causes and deal with effects! Yet all the world's problems and ills are simply a matter of cause and effect. There is a cause that has produced strife and war; poverty, wretchedness, inequality; crime, disease, mental ills. But the leaders do not know!
World Explosion to Erupt
The world's leaders are the educated of the world. But they were not educated in BASIC TRUTHS - the foundations of right knowledge. The most necessary knowledge is not being taught! They do not know WHAT man is - or WHY! They know nothing of the purpose or meaning of life! They were not taught to distinguish the true values from the false. They did not learn the real causes - the way to peace, to happiness, to universal abundance; nor the causes of war, unhappiness, inequality, world chaos.
They know nothing of the purpose being worked out here below. Consequently, they guide humanity on a course in conflict with that purpose, wreaking havoc upon a distressed, suffering, unhappy mankind. Lacking knowledge of the way to peace, the world does not have peace. Leaders talk of peace; they profess to work for peace; they cry out for peace - while they give approval and blind acceptance to the way that produces war!
Secret societies such as the Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergers, the Illuminati, the Burschenschaft, and Opus Dei, are favorite topics of talk radio, Internet sites, books and movies. From blockbuster movies such as “Enemy of the State” and “Angels and Demons” to “Doomsday 2012: End of Days,” from talk radio hosts such as Michael Savage and Glenn Beck to Alex Jones, society is fascinated by conspiracy theories and the clandestine organizations supposedly manipulating the masses.
Is one-world government coming? Are governments and pharmaceuticals spreading autism, AIDS and other diseases to make profits now and create a weakened and subservient population later? Was the economic crisis engineered? Are secret societies and conspiracy theories real?
Conspiracy theories and secret societies are nothing new. Freemasons can be traced back to the early 1700s in England. The Knights Templar precedes the Freemasons and has existed since the Crusades, around 1118-1129.
But thousands of years ago, around 2200 B.C. the mother of all secret societies took root. This is the “conspiracy theory” that really matters, because this is a secret society controlled by none other than Satan, and this is the most powerful secret society on the planet!
While conspiracy theories make for interesting talk radio and sell books and movies, let us remember that the ultimate enemy is Satan the Devil! And while many people debate “clandestine organizations,” the biggest clandestine organization continues to thrive in plain sight with billions of unwitting accomplices! It is the secret society of false religion with roots that go back more than 4000 years, and its real leader is the Devil.
Satan’s secret society precedes Nimrod, but with Nimrod his system began to take the human shape that has persisted to this day. Vestiges of this false religious system have spread to every continent and have influenced every culture.
Babylonian king Nimrod was a powerful leader. But, he was opposed to God. The name Nimrod comes from marad meaning “he who rebelled.” Upon Nimrod’s death, he was deified by his widow, Semiramis, who claimed that Nimrod was reborn as her son Tammuz. Semiramis and her priests then invented many rituals to worship her as the “mother of god,” and her son as a god. Rituals ranging from mother-of-god worship, to sunrise services, to the winter solstice festival can be traced back to pre-Christian times and ultimately to ancient Babylon. Even the ancient Israelites adopted some of these pagan customs. Ezekiel 8:16 shows ancient Israel worshiping the sun in the east, and God calls this precursor to our modern “sunrise services” an abomination (v. 17).
This Babylonish system is the ultimate secret society of which Satan is the head. It is the “mother of harlots” that has influenced all nations and all world religion (Revelation 17:5), which we are warned to “come out of” (Revelation 18:4).
A true Christian should keep conspiracy theories in their proper context. Speaking of ancient Israel’s Assyrian captivity, but also prophesying of God removing His protection from modern Jacob and our coming national affliction, Isaiah 8:6-14 warns that people will “Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing” (v. 10), and that the people should not say “a conspiracy” is overtaking them. Instead, God Himself will become “a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel” (v. 14).
Not all conspiracies are real. But Satan is real. He continues to use human instruments and organizations, including false religion, to mislead the nations, to cause confusion and suffering, and to bring the world closer to confrontation with the returning King of kings (Revelation 19:19). Instead of focusing on conspiracy theories, we need to turn to true, original Christianity!
Seven years without rain. Three and a half years without rain. Have you ever read biblical accounts of drought and wondered if it could happen here? Could America survive seven years without rain? Studies indicate that the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, the worst drought America has survived to date, was small compared to what North America commonly experienced before European colonization. Could it happen again?
This is an important question because more than ever the world is depending on America to feed it.
On August 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin banned all Russian wheat exports to conserve food. Drought and raging wildfires had decimated the world’s third-largest wheat exporter beyond expectations.
According to the Daily Mail, panic buying from Middle Eastern and African importers rocketed wheat prices up 70 percent and even risked sparking food wars.
Russia confirmed the fears of many: The world’s food supply is unnervingly precarious.
Ukraine is in drought, Australia is in drought. Canada was under water last spring. Pakistan is under water now. And the world’s population continues to soar.
This story reminds me of the humorous but fake Headline in the Dublin News Times which read:
GOD SAVES TED KENNEDY - AS GIRL DROWNS
This is one story that U.S. News & World Report's Washington Whispers might want to keep to a low whisper or risk even more ridicule than what they are already receiving. Paul Bedard, writing in Washington Whispers, quotes Kennedy's biographer and former girlfriend who claim that Ted was really an innocent victim of the Chappaquiddick accident. Here is Kennedy biographer Burton Hersh making the case for Kennedy as merely a lousy driver:
Now, a year after Kennedy died, his lifelong biographer Burton Hersh, armed with fresh interviews with Kennedy's mistress at the time, tells Whispers that the whole July 1969 episode should have been handled as a simple crash, leaving the senator's legacy untainted. "It was a car accident," he says. "Ted was a terrible driver. He never paid much attention to where he was going."
"He took a tremendous blow on the head," says Hersh. In interviews following the crash, Kennedy displayed confusion and amnesia, he says.
