Yeshua (Jesus) said “If ye love me, keep my (ten)commandments”.
Torah / Pentateuch / The Law&“The Ten Commandments”
In the Bible; Matt 22:36 Yeshua (Jesus) was asked “Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law (Torah)”?
He could have responded by saying something like “they are no longer valid now that I have come” or “It is…. but upon my resurrection they will no longer apply to you”…; but He didn’t.
Instead, within the verses following this query (Matt 22:37-40) we see Yeshua’s response to this most important question; 37 “You shalt love Yahweh thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”.
When Yeshua answered in this way, He was clearly expressing an abbreviated summary of what is commonly referred to as “The 10 Commandments” (see the picture below).
The spirit of Yahweh shall rest upon Yeshua, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh
